This is Carmen, Joey, and me in Inner Mongolia. Carmen was my roomie for the Dongbei trip, she is pretty much the most awesome person on the planet, so naturally we bought matching scarves and hats just like any good friends will. Inner Mongolia was super sunny, blue, and cloudless. It was almost perfect weather except for the fact that the wind struct with a vengeance and at night we all turned into little study-abroad-sicles inside our yurts (also known as Menggubao). I did end up catching a cold on the second day despite wearing layers to protect me from the elements. But mei wenti! (no problem!) All is well...I promise, Mom.
